Anthropology Field Schools

The following links showcase the work that students have done in previous field schools:

In collaboration with the Charleston Museum, the Anthropology Program at the College of Charleston hosts the bi-annual Southeastern Archaeological Field School where students work at historic sites around Charleston County. The field school experience is an intensive 7-week class that takes you into the field to learn the skills and techniques that will prepare you for work as a contract archaeologist after graduating from the College.  If you have questions about the Southeastern Archaeological Field School, contact Dr. Maureen Hays at haysm@cofc.edu or 843-953-5738.

If you are considering completing a field school abroad or with another institution and want to receive academic credit for that experience, please contact our Associate Chair, Dr. Debbie Auriffeille or at 843-953-6513
